SeaSupplier Eliminates Supply Chain Crisis With 3rd Generation Supplier Connect Product
September 15, 2007 - Seasupplier Ltd, a global provider for e-procurement solutions, today announced that it has launched its third generation of Supplier Connect, an information highway that connects suppliers to shipowners, logistics providers, warehouses and agents. The company expects the enhanced module to eliminate the risk of delivery errors associated with schedule or trade route changes. It also believes the module will reduce the time and effort currently needed to manage revised delivery plans. Supplier Connect manages documents and notifications that have not been standard offerings in electronic trading.
“Most of the system to system transactions in the market today are limited to the basic documents, RFQ, Quote, and Purchase Order,” said Terry Kearney, CEO of SeaSupplier. “We moved ahead to include the less frequent but more critical transactions such as delivery changes, schedule changes, and even cancellations.”
“When a ship changes its major storing port with short notice, the risk of missing a critical delivery and the cost of changing the supply chain is extremely high”, added Kearney. “Accurate, timely, and comprehensive communication is priceless.”
