Samuel Cooperman | Chairman 

Mr. Samuel Cooperman has served as the Chairman of SeaSupplier’s Board since the company’s inception in 2000. Mr. Cooperman’s extensive experience in the world shipping market as well as computer sciences provides a strong foundation for the company’s strategic direction.

Mr. Cooperman received his Bachelor of Science degree from Columbia University in 1967 and then went on to Graduate School at the University of Pennsylvania for his Masters of Science. In 1972 Mr. Cooperman received his MBA from Temple University and began a very broad career in International Shipping, Computer Manufacturing, and Consulting.

In 1974 Mr. Cooperman joined Stolt-Nielsen and quickly joined the company’s senior management team. During his tenure with the company he has served as the CEO of Stolt Parcel Tankers Inc., the Chairman and CEO of Stolt Transportation Group, and the Chairman and CEO of Optimum Logistics.

Mr. Cooperman has served as a Director of a wide range of organizations. He served the international shipping community as the Vice-Chairman of the International Chamber of Shipping. He supported environmental education as a Director of Soundwaters. His contribution to local development was provided as a Director of the Greenwich Chamber of Commerce.

Mr. Cooperman currently serves as a Director of the following organizations; Cooperman Weiss Consulting, LLC , New York Cruise Lines, The International Chamber of Shipping and Stolt-Nielsen S.A.

 

 

Arvid Bergval | Director

Mr. Arvid Bergvall has served as a director of SeaSupplier Ltd. since 2006.

In 1999 Arvid founded and became CEO of OneSea, a maritime e-procurement company. He was responsible for raising capital, establishing strategic relationships with banks including Citibank and UBS Warburg. He developed close relationships with many key shipping groups. Arvid stayed on during the merge of OneSea with PrimeSupplier to ensure the smooth integration into SeaSupplier Ltd.

Arvid was CEO of Marcas (Marine Contracting Association) from 2003 to 2004. He oversaw negotiation of major supply contracts for the founders, and other members including BP Shipping, Eletson, Stelmar and IUM.

Mr. Bergvall is currently promoting and developing real estate investments in Southern Spain for Vision Invest. He has developed an experienced real estate team and raised finance from private investors and CarVal group (Cargill). In the years prior to founding OneSea, Arvid was involved in various worldwide shipping ventures. Mr. Bergvall retains contacts and relationships in the shipping industry as a consultant, as well as being retained by a leading UK bank to advise on a transaction. Arvid is also a member of various boards within the V group.

 

Mark F. Martecchini | Director

Mr. Mark Martecchini has served as a Director of SeaSupplier Ltd. since 2004.  Mr. Martecchini brings a wealth of commercial and management knowledge to the Board through his extensive experience in the shipping industry.  He currently serves as Managing Director of Shipowning for Stolt Tankers B.V. 

Mr. Martecchini joined Stolt-Nielsen’s Ship Management group in 1983, followed by positions in the Chartering department in Great Lakes/TransAtlantic Services. In 1990 he took over the management of the company’s Tanker Projects Group.

Mr. Martecchini moved to Houston to serve as Vice President, Fleet Manager and remained in that position until 1998 when he returned to the company’s headquarters in Greenwich in a commercial role as Senior Vice President, Global Account Manager.  He then transitioned into a strategic planning role as the Director for Logistics Services, applying supply-chain methods to the packaging of tanker shipments, tank storage and land distribution in one agreement.  Mr. Martecchini became Managing Director Americas in 2004 before moving to Rotterdam to take up his current Shipowning role.

Mr. Martecchini is a graduate of Webb Institute of Naval Architecture and holds an M.B.A. from New York University (U.S.).

 

 

Jacob B. Stolt-Nielsen | Director

Mr. Jacob B. Stolt-Nielsen is the founder of SeaSupplier Ltd and long term champion of the company. He served as the company’s Chief Executive Officer from its inception in 2000 until 2003 when he became a Director of SeaSupplier Ltd. 

Mr. Stolt-Nielsen has extensive experience in all aspects of the marine industry. In 1987 he joined Stolt-Nielsen Transportation Group and served in various positions in Oslo, Singapore, Greenwich, Connecticut, Houston, Texas, and London. From 1992 until 2000 he held the position of President, Stolthaven Terminals, with responsibility for the global tank storage business. During his tenure, Stolthaven Terminal Operations achieved exponential growth through internal expansion, mergers, and acquisitions. He served as an Executive Vice President of Stolt-Nielsen S.A. from 2003 to 2004. Mr. Jacob B. Stolt-Nielsen has served as a director of Stolt-Nielsen S.A. since 1995. He is also director of Fiducia Ltd. Mr. Stolt-Nielsen graduated from Babson College in 1987 with a BS degree in Finance and Entrepreneurial studies.

 

 

Paul Weber | Director

Mr. Paul Weber holds degrees from Webb Institute of Naval Architecture and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Prior to joining the Board in 2002, Mr. Weber was an executive with Stolt-Nielsen where he was part of the initial PrimeSupplier (the precursor to SeaSupplier) management team. Mr Weber is currently a procurement executive in the cruise industry and resides in South Florida.
